Harry Potter tours have become ever more popular. Harry
Potter film Location sights are set in London and some
of the
forgotten
and pretty
English countryside.
The magical Harry Potter movies (brought to life from J.K
Rowling's books) were filmed in the United Kingdom, not
only does it bring some of these locations alive again,
but the Harry Potter films have helped focus the
spotlight on places outside London. Oxford has seen an
increase in visitors of 40%.
We have tours
to please everyone, from taking a short 3.5 hours London
Tour, to spending the day with your own personal guide,
who can help you envisage standing in the classrooms or
corridors of Hogwart’s, so when you go home and watch
the movie back, you can say I stood there, we now even
incorporate Harry Potter film locations into our layover tours.
If
it is a day trip out of London you wish to take for all
your family, then try our most popular Harry Potter tour
of 10-hours, out to Oxford and Lacock. Your driver will
arrive at your hotel in the morning, in a new London
black Taxi and take you and your family on a
fascinating tour of the English countryside taking in
the tranquil 14th century village of Lacock
as well as stopping for lunch in a traditional English
pub, take in the classrooms and corridors of Hogwarts as
well as some of the history. Then it’s back on the road
to Oxford and climb the stairs to the entrance of the
Great Hall, where Mrs. McGonagall met Harry Potter for
the first time, as well as taking in one of Oxford’s
prestige's colleges (Christchurch), before visiting
Hogwart’s hospital wing and the hall where the Goblet
was kept. Then, a short drive away, we enter into the
corridors and gardens of Hogwart’s and stand by the tree
where Mad Eye Moody turns Malfoy into a ferret, for
picking on Harry.
When we arrive back in London we drive across the bridge
like the Knight Bus, and visit Platform 9¾. Have your
picture taken in the market that was used in the scene
before Harry Potter and Hagrid enter Diagon Alley and
the Leaky Cauldron Pub,
The outside of the
Leaky Cauldron where Harry gets dropped off by the
Knight Bus and other Knight Bus scenes.
We are
also able to show Gringott’s Bank (outside only) where
Harry Potter had his vault. Then visit some of the new
sights that are in Order of the Phoenix, such as, as
they fly up the river and where Harry and Mr. Weasley
are when they enter the telephone box to go into the
Ministry of Magic.
Although this (10-hour tour) is our most popular Harry
Potter tour,
you can shorten the tour to take in Oxford and London or
pop along to Blenheim Palace and take in the Palace as
well as visiting the old tree where Harry Potter
witnesses his father being a bit of a bully, which is
also in OOTP. Extend the tour to take in Privet drive or
pop into Stonehenge which is not that far from Lacock.
You might be lucky, like some of our other clients, and
turn up to visit a sight only to find they are filming
the next movie, (Half Blood Prince) which started
filming in March of 2007. We pride ourselves with keeping in
touch with what is going on in the Harry Potter filming
and were frequently on location
during the filming of
the Order of the Phoenix and previous Harry Potter
films.
Gordon, (who is the prime Harry Potter guide) is more
then happy dealing with young children, and is also well
read when it comes to all things Harry Potter, as well
as being able to explain what it is they are seeing and
putting it all into context
regarding
the films and books.
We are
also able
to show you film locations from 'Harry Potter And The
Order Of The Phoenix' including the location of the
entrance to the Ministry of Magic, Grimuld Place and the
route taken by Harry when flying to Grimuld Place.
Please check
out all our different Harry Potter Tours, as they are
evolving all the time, as we find and add new locations.
We
are also always looking to add to our tours and create
new themed tours, so always pop back.
Remember our tours are per vehicle, not per person, and
are in new fully air-conditioned London taxis
New for 2008,
is the
location used for Professor Slughorn's home.
